Virginia Beach state Sen. Frank Wagner entered the 2017 governor's race over the weekend, bringing the total of GOP candidates to four.
"I know I can do better than what’s going on now in Virginia," Wagner told the Virginian Pilot. "I can do a better job." Wagner said he had been considering running for the Republican nomination for about a year.
The other candidates seeking the GOP nomination are: Ed Gillespie, the former chairman of the Republican National Committee; U.S. Rep. Rob Wittman, whose district spans from Northern Virginia to the Peninsula; and Corey Stewart, the chairman of the Prince William Board of Supervisors and the state chairman for Donald Trump's presidential campaign.
