How many times since you read the Sunday paper did you have this scene from the classic movie "Brewster's Millions" in your head?
Today we invited Todd Culbertson, the 37 year veteran editor of the Times-Dispatch's editorial page to NBC12 First at 4, to explain why the paper decided to not endorse a candidate for governor for the first time in their modern history.
He had a lot to say about the three candidates, but this was the line from the interview that stuck with me:
"If my neice or nephew came up to me and said uncle Todd-0 whom should we vote for governor, I'd say I can't recommend anyone. If I couldn't say that to a family member, I have no business writing an editorial urging Virginians to say that."
