Virginia's Senate Minority Leader Dick Saslaw did not mince words about Gov. Bob McDonnell's plan to eliminate the gas tax and increase overall sales tax to pay for tranportation.
Listen to how he reacted in this interview with NBC4's Julie Carey:
"I have seen some screwed up bills in my life this takes the cake," Salsaw says. He then goes on to add, "We are giving the store away, our roads are crumbling and he comes up with some scheme like this?"
Saslaw warns McDonnell that he needs at least one Democratic vote in the Senate to get the bill through because it raises revenue. The Lt. Governor cannot break that tie.
It looks the Governor has some work to do.
