Initially it looked like President Barack Obama would make only a brief stop in Richmond as part of his two day, six state post-debate tour of the country. The first briefing described the president making a "tarmac" stop in Richmond on Thursday.
Today campaign officials say the president will speak at The Carillon in Byrd Park. A spot in the heart of the Richmond and one the offers the potential for an enormous crowd and a huge traffic situation for people traveling in that area.
(Obama's last visit to Metro-Richmond was to Glen Allen in August)
The president will start his Thursday with an event in Tampa, Florida. He will arrive in Florida after an overnight flight after a three stop day on Wednesday. He will come to Richmond sometime during the midday, before departing for Chicago to be the first president in history to cast his ballot early.
As he hopscotches across the country, the president will make cold calls to undecided voters to convince them to support his campaign.
The event in Richmond marks the first time the president has been to Central Virginia since his stop in Glen Allen in August. The president delivered his remarks that day in the pouring rain.
