Romney to attend NASCAR race at RIR

Mitt Romney, the Republican nominee for president will attend this weekend's NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Richmond Internatonal Raceway.

Romney will make two stops in Virginia on that day. He will start the day with a rally in Virginia Beach.

This weekend's race will get plenty of attention from race fans because it is the last chance for drivers to gain access to the NASCAR playoff system "The Chase for the Championship."

This is not Romney's first visit to a NASCAR track. He took a little heat when he told reporters at a recent race that several of his friends "own race teams". Democrats used the comment as a way to extend their narrative that Romney is not in touch with the average American.
