When I think of "water ballet", my mind immediately goes to this old Saturday Night Live clip featuring Martin Short and Harry Shearer.
Fortunately, the water ballet dancers of Richmond - otherwise known as the River City Magnolias- are much better than this! (Plus, they wear cute, vintage swimsuits, which, in my eyes, already makes them awesome!)
They'll prove it to you Saturday afternoon during a special performance at the Randolph Pool in Richmond. It will be the group's way of introducing its talent to the community, as well as celebrating the opening of area public pools for the summer season.
Be sure to wear your swimsuit because after the group's 30-minute performance, you'll be able to jump in the pool with them to learn a few of their smooth moves!
The performance is free to the public, but donations of child-size goggles are encouraged.
Here are the cool (or pool) details:
Who: River City Magnolias
When: Saturday, June 14, 4:00 p.m.
