Plein Air-"Fast and Fresh"

Plein Air artists from all over the United States will meet in Richmond for one amazing week in June to create paintings in support of the Richmond Symphony.On Saturday, June 28, from 9:30 am -11:30 am, juried and non-juried artists will start and complete paintings. These "wet" paintings will be available for purchase right off the easels with proceeds benefiting the Symphony.
CountryFest at the Meadow

On Saturday, June 28, The Meadow Event Park will partner with Summit Media, parent company of K95, to host K95 CountryFest at The Meadow, a full day of country music on two stages, along with bull riding, barrel racing, a cornhole tournament, food, beer, shopping and interactive entertainment. The music lineup for this country-casual event will be a lively mix of regional bands and nationally acclaimed artists on the rolling green hills that are also home to the State Fair of Virginia. The Meadow Event Park is located in Caroline County and is easily accessible from the I-95 corridor between Richmond and Fredericksburg. CountryFest also will be your first opportunity to try Virginia Midway, the newly introduced official craft beer of the State Fair of Virginia.
Arts & Culture Xpo

The Arts & Culture Xpo spotlights the Richmond region's non-profit arts and culture organizations. It is a gathering for anyone who values arts and culture in our community! The Arts & Culture Xpo is an explosion of the arts, history, science, and family fun for the Richmond Region - all under one roof on one day featuring:FREE admission, hands-on learning activities including art demos and cultural interactions,opportunities to interact with diverse local arts and culture organization, and a variety of stage performances throughout the day highlighting local arts and culture organizations including musical, visual art, theatrical, historical and dance.

Get Your Butts to Broadway
Saturday, June 28, 5pm - 8pm
East Broadway Avenue, Downtown Hopewell
The Hopewell Downtown Partnership (HDP) is at it once again, this time in search of the best butt! On June 28th from 5pm to 8pm, a portion of E. Broadway Avenue in Downtown Hopewell will be closed for the 1st "Get Your Butts to Broadway." The event will be a downtown block party and pork BBQ butt cooking competition, with music, beer and food from both the competitors and other local vendors. The event will include live music from the Ft. Lee Band, beer/wine, local food vendors and more. General Admission to the event is free and the cost to sample the competitor meats and vote in the people's choice award is $10.
